Alan.1983                                                                                Inspired by my interest in ‘unfinished’ works of art, especially painted portraits where the artist has done all the work on the face and hands while the sitter is present and leaves the garments, background or horse until later once the sitter has left, then somehow never gets round to completing it.                                                        For these images I ‘unpainted’ the clothes and backgrounds on the negative itself.
